What Will You Do?

As a Purchasing Specialist at Pine Rest, you’ll be part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion.  The Purchasing Specialist works with the Purchasing Administrator to ensure that the department negotiates vendor terms, prices, purchases & tracks goods in addition to preparing and coding invoices for payment. The Purchasing Specialist is dedicated to excellent customer service, enthusiastic about the care we offer, and foster a sense of belonging and empowerment in a diverse workplace.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates purchase orders.

  • Communicates regularly and effectively in written form and verbally with internal and external customers regarding their material requirements.

  • Checks requisitions for appropriate approvals and account numbers.

  • Works with mailroom and receiving dock to insure that goods and supplies arrive and tracks returns

  • Follows established procedures to process and document returns.

  • Matches invoices to receipts/ Purchase orders to ensure policy compliance.

  • Processes, approves, and codes invoices accordingly for payment.

  • Maintain purchasing records.

  • Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with U.S. laws. Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.

What Does the Role Require?

Education/Experience?

  • High School Diploma or GED required, additional undergraduate courses or Associates degree preferred.

  • Experience of working in a customer or support service environment preferred
