As a Network Technician II, you will perform moves, adds, and changes (MACS); maintenance of voice and data telecommunications lines and equipment. This position works with clients, Voice Services and Network Engineering teams to complete equipment installation for voice and data applications. Identifies, interprets, completes diagnostics and corrects voice and data communications problems.
A caregiver in this position works onsite Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, with on-call requirements 2-3 times per year.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Install Meridian telephone sets, single line analog sets, elevator telephones, patient telephones, emergency telephones, fax, modem lines and associated ancillary communications devices.
Interpret and implement SL 100, CDC software programming related to assigned telephone service orders.
Interpret and implement data service orders for Ethernet switches, hub ports, printers, embossers and wireless ports.
Complete service orders related to low-speed data circuits and fiber connections.
Coordinate Systimax wiring, and cross connects voice line equipment, Ethernet ports and data circuits to workstation cable locations.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Five years of voice and data experience as an installer or technician or three years' experience working as a CCF Network Technician I.
For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is required within 6 months of the position start date
Has working knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity, basic electronics, analog and digital theory, and the ability to read schematics and functional flow diagrams.
Demonstrated proficiency with accuracy in the operations of a CRT or PC for data entry, voice/data customer database changes, and Microsoft Office products.
Ability to install and repair structured, high speed cabling, and patch panel terminations, high speed modular connectivity, and campus vertical and horizontal copper cabling products.
Understands code standards and protocols used with cabling runs in diverse building environments.
Understand basic telephone theory, basic PBX switch concepts, telephone software programming, and feature applications.
Understand ethernet theory, installation, and how to use data, tests, and certification equipment.
Understand equipment messaging syntax.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Experience in a large, complex information technology environment preferred.
Previous experience with high volume telephone or data installation and repair preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
In some locations, ability to move up to 50 lbs.
