Technology Risk & Controls Manager

  • Manage Risk Associated with the Transformation Program
    • Monitor progress of Japan’s Transformation Program, identifying risks early and working with the Japan CIO to address them
    • Communicate delays for transparency
    • Work with the CIO to confirm appropriate governance is in place for IT spending, IT changes, etc.

  • Drive Remediation of IT SOX issues:
    • Serve as the primary interface with External Audit for management of the Japan SOX lifecycle.
    • Monitor changes in the IT environment, assess their impact on IT controls, and take proactive action before the risks expose
    • Review evidence provided to Auditors to identify any issues upfront
    • Collaborate with the firm’s External Auditors, Internal Audit and IT functions to assess all SOX-related issues
    • Facilitate collection of IT artefacts to provide the External Auditor and review prior to submission
    • Drive the drafting of SOX MAPs, working with the MAP owner to confirm that (a) the MAP addresses the root cause of the issue; and (b) that it comprehensively addresses the issue
    • Monitor MAPs, understanding where there are significant issues, and what can be done to address these issues, escalating as appropriate
    • Monitor and ensure timely remediation of issues
    • Validate MAP closures address the root cause of the issues
    • Draft management reporting on SOX issues

  • Monitor Remediation of IT Internal Audit issues:
    • Serve as the primary contact with Internal Audit for effective and efficient communication between Internal Audit and IT.
    • Partner with Internal Audit and IT functions to evaluate issues identified by Internal Audit
    • Support and drive the drafting of the MAPs, working with the MAP owner to confirm that (a) the MAP addresses the root cause of the issue; and (b) that it comprehensively addresses the issue
    • Monitor MAPs, understanding where there are significant issues, and what can be done to address these issues, escalating as appropriate  
    • Monitor and ensure timely remediation of issues
    • Validate MAP closures address the root cause of the issues
    • Draft management reporting on Internal Audit issues

  • Key Risk Indicators:
    • Extract key data points monthly
    • Use these data to create and track Key Risk Indicators each month
    • Report on these KRIs at the IT Risk Committee meeting
    • When issues arise, work with IT teams to investigate to identify the root cause and resolve them
