Reporting to:  Head – Bandsaw India

Role Overview

The “Technical Manager - India, Bandsaw” will lead the technical, application, and business development strategy for the Bandsaw product line across India. This techno-commercial leadership role combines deep product expertise with sales responsibility — focused on driving customer retention, new business growth, and product performance. The role will work closely with sales teams, channel partners, and global product management to strengthen the brand’s market position as the preferred bandsaw cutting solution provider.

1. Technical Leadership & Application Development
• Act as India’s subject-matter expert on bandsaw blade design, tooth geometry, materials, and
application engineering.
• Optimize customer cutting processes for higher productivity, improved blade life, and reduced
cost per cut.
• Conduct field trials, product validation, and process audits to demonstrate measurable
performance improvement.
• Develop application data libraries, productivity benchmarks, and standard cutting parameters
for the region.
2. Customer Support & Retention
• Own customer satisfaction and retention metrics for key accounts and distributors.
• Resolve technical issues, complaints, and performance challenges through on-site
diagnostics and root-cause analysis.
• Build strong relationships with customers and OEMs, ensuring long-term loyalty and repeat
business.
• Implement structured service and visit plans to proactively prevent downtime or
dissatisfaction.
3. Sales & New Business Development
• Carry a business target for Bandsaw product line growth (volume and value).
• Partner with regional sales teams to identify and convert new customers in metal cutting,
steel service centers, foundries, and fabrication segments.
• Conduct technical demonstrations and trials to secure conversions from competitor brands.
• Drive premium product penetration and mix improvement through value-selling and technical
ROI presentations.
• Build strategic partnerships with key accounts and OEMs to expand application reach and
market share.
4. Training & Capability Building
• Train internal sales teams, distributor staff, and end-users on blade selection, installation, and
troubleshooting.
• Develop localized technical training modules, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
• Coach regional application engineers and develop a strong second line of technical experts.
5. Product Management & Feedback Loop
• Liaise with global product management and R&D; for local trials, product improvements, and
new product introductions (NPIs).
• Provide data-driven feedback on market trends, performance, and competitive insights.
• Support launch planning, testing, and post-launch performance tracking.
6. Data, Reporting & Systems
• Maintain a structured database of applications, trial results, and customer performance
metrics.
• Provide monthly performance reports covering sales growth, technical KPIs, and customer
satisfaction metrics.
• Ensure alignment with safety, quality, and ethical standards during all field operations.
Qualifications & Experience
• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production
Engineering.
• Experience: 10–15 years in industrial cutting tools or machine tools, with at least 5 years in
bandsaw or circular saw segment.
• Proven techno-commercial track record in technical sales, application support, and business
development.
• Experience with leading machine brands (Amada, Behringer, Everising, etc.) preferred.
Competencies & Skills
• Strong understanding of metal cutting processes and productivity improvement levers.
• Commercial acumen with ability to link technical benefits to business outcomes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Analytical mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Willingness to travel extensively across India (60–70% of time).
