Your Role
As Technical Expert (f/m/d) for Metadata Management Applications & Business Data Architecture, you actively contribute to the success of the digital transformation at ZEISS, driven by ZEISS Digital Partners. You will play a crucial role in developing tools to manage the end2end lifecycle of data, metadata and their respective modeling artifacts:
- You will design the solution architecture and build highly scalable technical solutions for the automated consolidation, mapping and modeling of (meta-)data, related processes and knowledge
- You are responsible to ensuring the seamless integration of the enterprise-wide Data Catalog into the ZEISS digital ecosystem
- You translate the business context into physical artifacts (business process modelling, data models, application models, integration / system models)
- You investigate user needs and provide technical solutions, processes and data artifacts that meet the requirements of our stakeholders
- You take responsibility for applications and stakeholders during development, commissioning and ensure stable operations
- You will evaluate the latest trends and technologies to continuously provide guidance on architectural decisions to ensure interoperability and system readiness for state-of-the art functionalities such as GenAI and LLMs
- You lead the development team to meet high quality standards, by continuously establishing best practices
- You automate and deploy user workflows and connect them to other systems and applications on the Cloud Data Platform
- You Represent the topic metadata management in internal expert groups and continuous exchange with outside of the company expert groups
Your Profile
- Excellent university degree (M.Sc.) in computer science, business informatics, mathematics, natural science or in a related field
- 6+ years of relevant professional experience:
- 4+ years of experience in software development
- Professional development skills in Python/Java/Scala
- Data and metadata engineering
- Technical design and architecture
- 2+ years of experience with customer-facing application development
- Experience with Cloud technologies like Microsoft Azure
- Proficiency in creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Thorough knowledge of Business and Data Architecture in context of one or multiple Frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate)
- Business process and capabilities expertise through thorough understanding of core IT Systems and their related data (SAP; Salesforce; Adobe Marketo / Customer Data Platform)
- Professional Experience in multiple forms of Data Storages (Azure Blob, Synapsis) and their interrogation (SQL)
- Cloud-based development artifacts (Terraform)
- Agile Software-development using Scrum / Kanban
- Best-practices and implementation for continuous integration / delivery
- Technical development and integration of User-Request Workflows through reusable Rest APIs
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices. Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and security protocols
- A strong ownership for developed products
- A strong customer-oriented mindset
- An independent, conscientious and solution-oriented way of working
- Fluency in English
