Job Description

Coho (Content House) is the internal advertising agency/production studio inside the Personal Care division within P&G.

Content House (COHO) is seeking a Technical Director to lead the technical and creative vision for how P&G creates CG content for its Beauty and Personal Care brands. Your primary responsibility will be building and architecting COHO's Digital Twin pipeline—the foundational infrastructure that will power content creation across our entire brand portfolio—while also providing creative direction for all CG work and leading the CG department.

This is not a role about following established workflows—it's about building the systems, setting the creative standard, and pioneering the technologies that will scale CG production for years to come.

Reporting to the Creative Director and collaborating closely with the Head of Studio, you'll split your time between architecting the digital twin ecosystem, providing creative direction on everything from social assets to broadcast hero moments, and leading the CG department. You'll also have the mandate to experiment with emerging technologies—AI, virtual production, real-time rendering—with infrastructure support from our Consumer Digital Products (CDP) team.

Three Core Pillars of Responsibility

1. Digital Twin Pipeline Architecture & Leadership (Primary Focus)

  • Design, build, and own COHO's "Single Source of Truth" library of photorealistic, physically accurate 3D product assets
  • Create a modular, future-proof pipeline where digital twins contain all global variants (labels, packaging, languages) and can deploy seamlessly across e-commerce, social, retail media, and broadcast
  • Establish technical standards, asset specs, and quality gates that ensure interoperability between offline rendering, real-time engines, and emerging AI workflows
  • Partner with Consumer Digital Products (CDP) IT resources to implement render infrastructure, asset management systems, and pipeline automation
  • Integrate AI into the pipeline for automated texture generation, variant production, and workflow acceleration
  • Own the long-term vision: how does this system scale to 50+ products? 200+? How does it evolve as technology changes?

2. Creative Direction & Quality Leadership

  • Set and maintain the creative bar for all CG work produced by COHO
  • Provide hands-on creative direction to ensure every digital asset reflects the premium lighting, translucency, material fidelity, and "Beauty Eye" essential to personal care brands
  • Lead look development for hero brand moments and establish visual systems that can scale across channels
  • Guide the team through complex creative challenges—fluid simulations, skin interaction, product choreography—ensuring technical excellence serves creative ambition
  • Review and approve all final CG outputs, balancing speed-to-market with brand-level polish

3. Technology Strategy & Innovation Leadership

  • Serve as COHO's thought leader on the future of CG production: real-time engines, generative AI, virtual production, procedural workflows, and beyond
  • Evaluate, pilot, and integrate emerging technologies—including AI tools—that can unlock speed, quality, or creative possibility
  • Develop AI strategy for content creation: identifying where generative AI, procedural automation, or machine learning can reduce manual bottlenecks or enable new creative capabilities
  • Lead technical execution of Virtual Production shoots, including LED volume integration, real-time camera tracking, and environment design
  • Provide technical direction for high-end VFX integration: match-moving, complex simulations, advanced compositing, on-set HDRI/photogrammetry capture
  • Build strategic relationships with technology vendors and industry partners to keep COHO at the leading edge

The Candidate Profile

  • The Architect-Artist: You have deep technical mastery and a strong creative point of view. You can build a pipeline and know when it's not serving the creative vision.
  • Proven Leadership: You've led CG teams or served as a senior technical authority on high-profile projects. You know how to inspire, elevate, and develop talent.
  • System Thinker: You don't just solve today's problem—you build infrastructure that scales. You think in frameworks, not one-offs.
  • Pipeline Builder: You've built or significantly contributed to asset pipelines, DAM systems, or content infrastructure at scale. You understand how to create systems that support hundreds or thousands of assets.
  • Tool-Agnostic Expert: You're fluent across major 3D ecosystems (Maya, Houdini, Blender, etc.), real-time engines (Unreal, Unity), and high-end compositing (Nuke, Flame). You choose the right tool for the job.
  • Real-Time & AI Fluent: You understand how to leverage real-time rendering and generative AI (procedural textures, environment generation, workflow automation) to create competitive advantage.
  • Beauty-Obsessed: You understand the physics and artistry of making a bottle of lotion or a razor cartridge look aspirational. You care about subsurface scattering, Fresnel, and the way light wraps around a cap.
  • The "Hungry" Innovator: You're not interested in maintaining the status quo. You want to build something that fundamentally changes how content is made at scale.

Why COHO? Why P&G?

You'll have the agility and creative freedom of a startup with the resources and scale of P&G's Personal Care portfolio. COHO gives you:

  • The Innovation Mandate: Explicit authority to experiment with, pilot, and implement cutting-edge technologies—including AI, virtual production, and real-time workflows—to keep P&G's brands ahead of the curve
  • Infrastructure & Partnership: Dedicated IT support from the Consumer Digital Products (CDP) team to build and maintain render infrastructure, pipeline tools, and hardware
  • Creative Autonomy: Lead the creative direction for all CG work and set the standard for the team
  • Strategic Impact: A seat at the table in shaping the future of P&G's internal production engine and a scalable model that could transform how the company creates content
  • Consultative Budget: Resources to bring in specialized freelance talent for complex technical challenges or niche expertise
  • Brand Portfolio: Work across Secret, Olay, Native, Gillette, Ivory, Safeguard, Herbal Essences, and more

Job Qualifications
