The Role

Raytheon Australia MV CLCM is seeking a committed and confident person to undertake the Technical Data Management Officer role within the Configuration Management Team. As the Technical Data Management Officer, your focus will be on organizing, storing, and sharing technical data within the Minor Vessel Classes while handling technical data in accordance with security, exports and ITAR restrictions within the Defence approved records management systems.

Working in a friendly team to meet the needs of our customer - the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), your role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • As the technical interface between the customer, management and the implementation team, conduct data management support to ensure the correct data is made available to authorised users and can be catalogue and found efficiently.

  • Provide technical data support for sustainment of the Patrol and Hydrographic ships including the provision of authorised technical data to third parties during maintenance activities and in-service defects.

  • Assist internal stakeholders in the use of applications used in the Data Management Environment including but not limited to applications such as Teamcenter, Objective ECM, Atlassian JIRA and external clients’ data portal(s)

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholder; securing Raytheon’s reputation as a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions to our customers.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Data Management Experience in an Asset management environment

  • Document writing skills including authoring of processes and procedures, internal training material and preparation of reports from the data management system.

  • May be tertiary qualified through relevant vocational training or recognised degree qualifications.

  • Previous experience making minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of work area.

  • Understanding of the requirements within data management in Commonwealth of Australia data management systems.

  • Basic understanding of the requirements and issues associated with configuration management.

  • Computer literacy including the use of data management systems, Windows operating system, and Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, sound technical verbal and written communication abilities and

  • Be accountable for achieving ongoing self-improvement and professional development

  • This position may require availability to travel when required.
