The Role:
Reporting into the Operations Delivery Manager you will be responsible for the daily management of the team on depot to ensure all customer, contractual and operational requirements are met.
What You’ll Do:
Implementation and maintenance of safety systems, production efficiency and quality output at the relevant ATC Depot site.
Implementation of customer requirements, to ensure that trains are maintained, cleaned, and serviced to agreed quality standard to meet the operational requirements for both ATC and the customer.
Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures. Ensuring the safe movement of vehicles whilst complying with the Safe Method Of Work procedure.
Ensuring the wellbeing of all relevant personnel, to manage rosters and staff appropriately to ensure correct levels of manning are always achieved, carry management of shift leave and RTW interview and completion of Workday requirements.
Competence assessment of relevant Team Members, ensuring staff remain competent and carry out In Process Evaluations in line with ATCs CMS. Mentoring and coaching of Team Members to ensure that they fulfil their job requirements and have the relevant training to do so.
Carry out fitter duties, when required, to ensure minimum service levels are achieved.
To work flexibly to cover the hours required by customer or operational requirements.
Ensuring work locations are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant standards. Support depot/SDL/DM with routine HSEQ related processes including (but not exhaustively) fire alarm testing, legionella monitoring/flushing, conducting Safety tours, issuing permits to work, carrying out depot
Ensure IDRs, near misses, incidents and accidents are correctly reported as per company processes and ensure support the process for managing and closing these events out.
Carrying out and recording of start of shift briefs and daily safety meetings.
Inductions/safety briefs/briefs and any other depot duty as directed.
Assisting with the interview process of prospective team members when requested and confirming arrangements for new starters.

Qualifications
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering
Experience
Previous experience or understanding working in a rail maintenance environment
Management of rail vehicle depot operations
Key Skills
People management training is desirable
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering
Good understanding of applicable health, safety and environment standard
