Talent Acquisition & Development Specialist

About the job:

This role plays a pivotal part in shaping our talent strategy by balancing swift, high-quality hiring with long-term people development. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this position will own key aspects of employer branding, competency-based recruitment, and scalable learning initiatives, while working closely with leaders and teams to ensure a strong and consistent employee experience as we grow.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition - Hiring & Pipeline Building

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for technical, operational, and corporate roles across Portugal and future European locations.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical roles (engineering, operations, energy, security, compliance, commercial).
  • Run structured, competency-based interviews to reduce bias and ensure a consistent candidate experience.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role profiles, skills matrices, and selection processes.

Talent Attraction & Employer Branding

  • Develop targeted sourcing strategies for niche data center and energy-related profiles.
  • Support employer branding initiatives, including events, partnerships with technical schools, and online presence.

Learning Programs

  • Assess training needs and design scalable learning programs (technical, safety, leadership, and onboarding).
  • Manage relationships with external training providers across Portugal and Europe.
  • Coordinate certification and compliance-oriented training required for data center operations.

Performance & Development

  • Contribute to the design and rollout of career frameworks and competency models.
  • Support performance review cycles and tools, including feedback culture initiatives.
  • Help build leadership and management development programs as we scale.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in Talent Acquisition or combined TA + L&D roles, ideally in tech, engineering, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Solid experience running full recruitment cycles with technical or hard-to-fill roles.
  • Experience using ATS and L&D systems
  • Strong capability to design or manage learning initiatives.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-growing, ambiguous environment where systems, processes, and job descriptions evolve quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English.
  • Experience in start-ups, scale-ups, or greenfield projects (data center or energy industry is considered a plus).
