Job Summary
KBR is seeking a Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) Team Lead to join our Electronic Warfare Systems organization in Colorado Springs, CO. In this leadership role, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team responsible for systems engineering, system integration, and end-to-end test activities supporting ground-based mobile satellite communication systems, advanced RF technologies, and software-enabled mission capabilities.
The SEIT Team Lead will guide the definition, development, integration, and verification of complex systems while ensuring engineering rigor, technical quality, and mission-focused execution. This role includes team leadership, planning and coordinating system integration events, directing verification and validation activities, and collaborating with government and industry partners. The selected candidate will work under the Technical Operations Manager while leading SEIT engineers, junior systems engineers, and interns within the Technical Operations functional area.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Lead requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and traceability across system and subsystem levels.
· Develop and maintain system architectures, interface definitions, and technical documentation.
· Guide users and stakeholders in formulating technical requirements and evaluating alternative approaches.
· Provide technical direction for the integration of requirements, design artifacts, and emerging technologies.
Integration & Test Leadership
· Plan, coordinate, and execute system integration, verification, and validation activities across multiple teams.
· Confirm system and component capabilities by designing and supervising test methods, test plans, procedures, and events.
· Ensure all interfaces, dependencies, and technical baselines are fully tested and verified.
· Troubleshoot technical issues during integration and test, coordinating solutions with software, hardware, and RF engineering teams.
Team Leadership & Coordination
· Lead, mentor, and grow a team of SEIT and systems engineering personnel.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams to champion SEIT-informed processes and workflows for product development and engineering standardization across programs.
· Support Program Management with tracking requirements, technical baselines, risks, issues, and configuration management.
· Communicate effectively with customers, government stakeholders, and program personnel regarding SEIT technical considerations.
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
· Ten (10) or more years of experience in systems engineering, system development, integration, and/or system testing.
· Experience planning and leading system integration and test efforts across multi-disciplinary teams.
· Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI.
· Moderate understanding of RF engineering fundamentals, antenna design, or related discipline(s).
· Experience supporting ground-based SATCOM terminal operations and related signal generation/processing devices.
· Demonstrated ability to derive, analyze, and manage system requirements in complex programs.
· Experience supporting system integration at the enterprise or system-of-systems level.
· Experience implementing structured processes for integration, interface coordination, and verification.
· Experience with Agile development principles and collaborative engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
· Experience supporting DoD or federal government programs.
· Experience leading teams in systems engineering or SEIT-focused organizations.
· Hands-on experience with satellite communications, RF systems, or complex mission system architectures.
· Familiarity with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody) and digital engineering approaches.
· Experience with test automation frameworks, modeling and simulation, or system performance analysis.
Salary Range: $137,130 - $205,695
The salary range posted is for Colorado Springs, CO. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
