Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an immediate opportunity available for a Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer. The selected candidate for this position will report to the Northrop Grumman Precision Targeting and Protection facility in Apopka, FL. This position is to support the design, integration, test, and production of laser/electro-optical, network and communication systems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Implement and manage system requirements.
Revises and manages both original and revised specification/interface definition document and expedites documents through signature approval process.
Provides data to risk management (identifies potential risks) and trade study processes.
Supports system design, data analyses, interface verification, testing, failure/anomaly resolution and mission operations.
Supports the testing and/or evaluation/validation of one or more components of a system or subsystem analytical model or actual system implementation.
Attends and prepares materials for presentation during System Requirement Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review and System Verification Review.
Supports trade studies, system sensitivity studies, design optimization studies, system performance assessments, system design assessments, mission analysis and timelines and concept of operations development.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment supporting an Integrated Product Team.

Basic Qualifications for a Systems Engineer:
BS Degree in Computer Science or related STEM degree and 2 years of related experience or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related STEM degree and 1 years of related experience, or PhD with 1 years of related experience.
US Citizenship is required
Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. Clearance is not required to start. Must be able to obtain and maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.
2 years experience with DOORS or CAMEO requirements managements tool
2 years experience process and Procedure writing experience
Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools
Understanding of Statement of Work and other contractual documents
Experience writing statements of work and estimating project scope.
Experience in problem-solving skills
Experience in performing failure analysis and driving implementation of robust corrective action.
Ability to scope and generate product test plans, lead tests as Test Engineer and generate comprehensive test reports for internal and external customer distribution.
Experience in problem-solving skills
Experience in RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action)
Good organization skills – Ability to coordinate multiple projects.
Ability to effectively communicate and present complex technical concepts to project, program, and company management, other technical managers, and customers.
