Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at the Grand Sky UAS Business and Aviation Park in Emerado, ND as a Field Facing Integrator. This position will be in our Systems Engineering Organization.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Field facing integrator role will be a customer facing role that will coordinate with the users and leadership at the Grand Forks Air Force Base with supporting mission troubleshooting, mission kickoff support, gather voice of the warfighter for major issues the field is experiencing and feeding back information to the team in Rancho Bernardo for troubleshooting, supporting investigations, and mission trend analysis.

  • Perform analysis on Field Facing Integration issues:

    • Generate technical solutions

    • Fleet operation troubleshooting

    • Analysis of anomaly investigations

    • Provide technical recommendations to the SPO

Hybrid: The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility.  Once established in role, the position could potentially offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager's discretion.

This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years of related engineering experience.

  • Must have an interim Secret Clearance for consideration and ability to obtain and maintain DoD Final Secret prior to start.

  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An active DoD Top Secret Clearance.

  • Experience with RQ-4 air vehicle, ground segment, sensor payloads, and support equipment.

  • Experience supporting Fielded Aircraft Systems.

  • Experience with USAF customers.

  • Experience with multiple disciplines across Systems Engineering, incl. requirements, integration, technical configuration management (CM or Technical Baseline), and Cyber.

  • Experience with root cause investigations, fielded issue investigation, and operational missions.

  • Experience in performing operational utility assessments to assess operations, data flow, mission performance and technical risk to inform requirements and design concept development.

  • Experience in collecting and analyzing operational mission data to evaluate mission effectiveness and recommend improvements to system design, architecture and system operations concept.

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
