Position Summary

DuPont is seeking a Tyvek® Healthcare – Innovation Technical Lead to support the Tyvek® Roll Goods Business. Partnering in a “two-in-a-box” model with the Global Tyvek® Healthcare Innovation Market Lead, you will identify, prioritize, and develop new applications and platform opportunities that extend the value of Tyvek® in the healthcare market.

Key Responsibilities

New Application & Opportunity Identification

  • Identify new application opportunities informed by market trends, customer insights, and unmet needs.
  • Translate customer and market learnings into technical opportunity concepts and application hypotheses.

Technical Strategy & Feasibility

  • Define the technical value proposition, performance targets, and points of differentiation.
  • Lead technical feasibility assessments, including performance, scalability, manufacturability, cost structure, and sustainability considerations.
  • Identify technical risks, gaps, and development needs; propose and lead mitigation strategies.

Application Development & Validation

  • Lead early-stage application development activities.
  • Develop and execute test plans and validation strategies.
  • Integrate customer, market, and technical feedback through iterative development cycles to refine solutions.

Cross-Functional & External Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary technical interface for new business initiatives, partnering closely with Tyvek® Healthcare cross-functional teams.
  • Build and leverage external technical collaborations to accelerate development.

Portfolio Prioritization & Business Support

  • Support business case development by contributing technical assumptions and insights.
  • Deliver fact-based technical assessments to enable informed decision-making.
  • Provide technical input into opportunity prioritization, portfolio reviews, and stage-gate or governance processes.

Transition to Commercialization

  • Define technical roadmaps supporting transition from early development to commercialization readiness.
  • Ensure effective handoff of mature opportunities to Product Management, Business Units, or Technology organizations.

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in R&D, application development, or technical innovation roles; experience in Life Sciences is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer and market needs into technical solutions.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional technical projects in complex or ambiguous environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in an agile, exploratory, and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing, or within CDMO/CMO settings, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with innovation funnels and stage-gate processes is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
