Raytheon Technologies (RTX) has an immediate opening for a. System Engineer II (FIT). The qualified candidate will support hardware development and deployments for the project; support the build-out and in-plant integration activities in a Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment. 

Some duties will include Configuring Hardware Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) components and related peripheral devices within a raised floor (lab) environment, support-related systems with hands-on activities to integrate COTS products for the project’s needs. Perform As-Built design audits and update documentation for COTS Deliveries to internal and external customers. Perform Discrepancy Report (DR) work-off to maintain COTS Configurations.

Note This position will require travel to customer sites for COTS integration and installation activities of up to 50% in some cases.

What You Will Do

  • You will leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with the movement, deployment, implementation, and support of COTS infrastructure solutions
  • You will Support factory hardware rack, Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) component and cable integration
  • You will Support hardware teardown and packing of Factory Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products in support of shipment to site
  • You will support hardware rack, component and cable integration activities
  • You will Perform and document updates and COTS hardware audits
  • You will Support development of Engineering Design Documents

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires High school, secondary school or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of experience; Associate degree in Electronics / Computer Technology or former Military experience is desired
  • Experience with AC/DC Power/Grounding Principles/OHMs Law
  • Experience with a wide variety of Cabling types (Cat-6, Coaxial, Multi-conductor, Fiber-Optic)
  • Experience in computer and network hardware systems
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance is required on day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experienced in hardware component integration in data center systems
  • Experience with interpretation of engineering documentation and drawings in various formats such as AutoCAD/Visio
  • Experience in Data Center COTs installation processes
  • Ability to lift hardware components (up to 50lbs)
  • Experience with Documenting and coordinating discrepancies, implementing solutions to maintain functioning hardware baseline
  • Training/Experience in industry standards on Data Center Cabling (DCIM, ANSI/TIA-942-A, ANSI/BICSI 002-20XX)
  • Training/Experience in industry manufacturing/inspection/audit standards (IPC-WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610 etc.)
  • Training/Experience in industry inspection/audit standards (ISO-9001, AS-9100 etc.)
  • Experience with Intelligence Community (IC) Agency mission, processes and facilities

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
