Tessera is seeking a dependable Swimming Pool Servicer/Laborer to support the safe and efficient operation of swimming pool facilities at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor. This role is responsible for maintaining water quality, ensuring equipment functionality, and keeping facilities clean and safe for use. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and committed to maintaining high facility standards
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Fill the pool and conduct regular water testing to ensure proper chlorine and pH levels.
Regulate feeders and administer prescribed amounts of soda ash and chlorine according to specific guidelines to purify the water.
Regularly check heating and pumping equipment functionality; perform minor repairs using mechanic's hand tools as necessary.
Inspect and clean the filter system, ensuring it operates efficiently.
Remove leaves and other debris from the water using a net.
Clean the bottom and sides of the pool using underwater vacuum cleaners, hoses, brushes, detergents, and sander.
Inspect, replace, and repair loose or damaged tiles as needed.
Report emergencies or unusual malfunctions to a supervisor promptly.
Keep detailed records and prepare reports on materials used and work performed.
Portable handheld electronic devices shall be used in the performance of daily duties for purposes including but not limited to documenting work, timekeeping, and ordering materials where applicable.
Maintain a clean and safe pool environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Ensure adherence to all relevant local, state, and federal guidelines pertaining to pool operation.
Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma/GED is required.
3-5 years in pool maintenance/operations.
Previous experience in pool operation and maintenance preferred.
Basic knowledge of pool chemistry and water treatment processes.
Familiarity with hand tools and maintenance equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
