Operating Room I Lexington, KY
Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.
Description OR Surgical Technologist:
Functions as a member of the surgical team under the direction of the registered nurse.
Performs scrub functions and other roles, which support the perioperative plan of care and knowledge of operative procedures.
Demonstrates knowledge of and utilizes principles of aseptic technique including but not limited to gowning, gloving sterilization, and disinfection.
On call weekends, weeknights, and holidays by rotation.
Requirements OR Surgical Technologist:
Technical Diploma or associate degree from an accredited Surgical Technology program
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
