Primary Duties
1) Supervises maintenance and optimization of ERP and financial systems, including leading system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
2) Oversee financial data integrity by maintaining enterprise data sources, troubleshooting system and data issues, and performing reconciliations to validate accuracy.
3) Directs the development of user stories and functional specifications, identifies improvement opportunities, and advises leadership on strategic enhancement options.
4) Utilizes technology and process knowledge to identify implications of technology and process changes. Captures and documents business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
5) Analyzes functionality of business needs, impacts to other systems and end-to-end process flow to recommend solutions. Performs gap analysis and creates future-state roadmaps.
6) Maintains master data, chart of accounts, hierarchies, and security roles.
7) Plans and defines work required for projects, manages resource planning, identifies and monitors potential risks, and assures proper change control.
8) Develops and maintains reports/dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Oracle Analytics Cloud) utilized by senior management for capital spending, labor and shared services O&M. Leads the development of appropriate reports, reporting templates and ad hoc informational reporting needs.
9) Supports budgeting, forecasting, and monthly close processes.
10) Assures adherence to SOX, audit, and data governance standards, as well as supports internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinates with internal and external auditors and assures financial data accuracy across the enterprise.
11) Acts as liaison between Finance, Accounting, IT, and external vendors and provides training and mentoring for end-users and analysts. Serves as an enterprise-wide subject matter expert with respect to the financial reporting systems.
12) Selects, develops, motivates and evaluates the performance of employees. Provides feedback to employees to address performance shortfalls, improve technical skills/knowledge, and increase efficiencies. Initiates improvement plans to align employee performance with operational goals as necessary. Responsible for day-to-day activities for the positions that report directly to this role.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or Business Administration or a related field and 4 years of progressively responsible professional experience in financial system support, or equivalent.
Certified Public Accountant certification preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical or other complex concepts to individuals with little or no background in the area under discussion, verbally and in writing.
NUMERIC SKILLS:
Requires the ability to perform moderately complex financial and/or accounting methods.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Requires knowledge of various software applications to create documents, reports and/or graphics.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Oracle Cloud ERP, Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Planning, SAP, Alteryx, and Tableau.
Solid knowledge of Visual Basic and/or other macro programming languages preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Works in an office environment.
