Join our expert team in designated U-Haul repair shops, where you’ll tear down and rebuild critical truck components to keep our fleet running at peak performance. Under the guidance of the Shop Manager or Foreman, you’ll apply your technical skills to meet industry standards for Ford and GM vehicles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Safely operate motor vehicles in and around the shop.

  • Diagnose and repair key systems, including transmissions, axles, water pumps, steering pumps, alternators, starters, and surge brake units.

  • Specialize in rebuilding truck component parts following U-Haul standards and best practices.

  • Analyze failures, determine root causes, and perform precise repairs or replacements.

  • Identify reusable parts to minimize costs without compromising quality.

TOOLS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service bulletins.

  • Skilled in explaining technical concepts and mentoring less experienced team members.

  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, micrometers, presses, pullers, and cleaning machines.

  • High attention to detail and coordination of mental and visual focus with manual dexterity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs (assisted or unassisted).

  • Comfortable with repetitive physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Exposure to moving parts, machinery, fumes, and chemicals—safety gear provided and required (masks, goggles, gloves, shields).

  • Moderate risk environment with strict adherence to safety protocols.
