Job Description:
An opportunity for an Supply Chain Quality Manager Indirect Suppliers for Services and MRO has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).
You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of goods and services procured from indirect suppliers (those suppliers providing goods and/or services which, not being part of the final product to the customer, may affect product conformity) for Services and MRO, contributing to the overall quality and reliability of our defence and space products. You will play a crucial role in managing supplier performance, mitigating risks, and driving continuous improvement throughout the indirect supply chain.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supplier Qualification and Selection:** Participate in the qualification and selection process of new indirect suppliers, evaluating their quality management systems, processes, and capabilities to meet Airbus Defence and Space SAU's standards and requirements.
Quality Assurance and Control:** Develop and implement quality assurance plans for indirect suppliers, including defining inspection points, acceptance criteria, and quality control methodologies to ensure the conformity of delivered goods and services.
Performance Monitoring and Auditing:** Conduct regular performance reviews, audits, and assessments of indirect suppliers P145 OFF A/C required by the Aiworthiness Authority in the scope of the MoM/MoE: MG-027, MG-027M , TAS-M-810/811 to monitor their adherence to quality standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements. Identify areas for improvement and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
Non-Conformance Management:** Manage non-conformances and quality issues arising from indirect suppliers, leading root cause analysis, defining containment actions, and ensuring the timely and effective implementation of corrective actions.
Process Improvement:** Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the indirect supply chain, collaborating with suppliers to enhance their quality processes, foster a culture of quality, and optimize efficiency.
Contractual Compliance:** Ensure that all quality requirements specified in supplier contracts are met and actively participate in contract reviews related to quality clauses.
Stakeholder Collaboration:** Work closely with procurement, services and other relevant internal departments to align on quality expectations for indirect suppliers and resolve any quality-related challenges.
Reporting and Analysis:** Generate regular reports on supplier quality performance, key metrics, and identified risks, providing insights and recommendations to management for informed decision-making.
Risk Management:** Identify and assess potential quality risks within the indirect supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on operations and product quality.
SKILLS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial), Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, or a related technical field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ISO9001/EN9100 Auditor, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain quality, supplier quality assurance, or quality management within a complex industrial environment, preferably in aerospace, defence, or a highly regulated industry.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO9001, EN9100), airworthiness regulations (Part 145, Part 21), quality tools (e.g., PPS, CCP, IPCA+, ESCCA+, SQIP, etc.), and auditing techniques.
Supplier Management:Proven experience in managing and developing suppliers, including conducting audits, performance reviews, and driving corrective actions.
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers on quality-related matters.
Proactiveness and Autonomy: Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Travel: Willingness to travel frequently domestically and internationally to supplier sites as required (15-18 business trips per year mainly to suppliers located in the core countries Spain, Germany, France and UK).
