OVERVIEW:

The role of the Supply Chain Planning Manager is to directly plan and manage supply chain flow through the interaction with merchandising, PAR, vendors, vertical brands and other supply chain departments.  They will coach and develop teammates, deliver data related to routine supply chain needs, business needs and assist with project management within the supply chain planning capacity. Responsible for managing and leading cross functional teams in the evaluation, recommendation, development and implementation of new systems and processes to support business areas. Effectively communicates strategy, plans, issues, risk, contingencies, and approach to all levels of the organization.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Planning Management

  • Responsibilities include ensuring the use of supply chain planning methods and processes for all Supply Chain and Vendor Relations programs; including defining scope, setting objectives and business outcomes, delegating and managing work assignments to meet needs of the business within established timelines.
  • Determine tasks and timeframes needed to complete objectives and develop strategies to drive performance to objectives and goals. Use creativity to develop new approaches to identified challenges and processes to drive improvements and business needs. 
  • Identifies and gathers needed support and resources cross functionally as needed to meet objectives.
  • Surface opportunities to Sr Director to gain alignment on proposed solutions; hold self and others accountable for meeting commitments.
  • Create and maintain needed project timelines, track requirements and translate business needs into deliverables.

Foster cross-functional relationships within Company and with Vendors

  • Interaction and relationship building with Supply Chain, Merchandising, PAR, Factories, and Vertical Brands will be required.
  • Facilitate process improvement discussions across internal functions to implement changes that improve Supply Chain and overall business performance.
  • Maintain close relationships with identified key vendors, engage with all vendors to support business objectives, evaluate new vendors for opportunities and efficiencies, gather and prioritize requirements to define strategies and provide input to business and vendors to meet/exceed expectations

Supervision

  • Manage a staff of 3 Vertical Brand Supply Chain planners
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback that identifies strengths and opportunities of team members
  • Develop and drive operational objectives for Supply Chain processes and projects to support the business as the need develops. 
  • Conduct meetings via video/conference call and travel to select vendors, participate in vendor DC tours as needed in collaboration with the Manager of VR Compliance. 
  • Partner to support DC Tours for internal DSG department personnel.

Technical

  • Focus on Supply Chain efficiencies across Distribution and Logistics that supports the business needs. 
  • Provide accurate and organized data to drive communication and process evolution thru reporting, meetings, questions and how key decisions are made within Vendor Relations and Supply Chain. 
  • Drive key relationship building with Merchandising, PAR, Vertical Brands and Supply Chain. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 - 7 Years experience in Supply Chain, Merchandising, PAR, Sourcing, and International Logistics

  • Knowledge of best practices in retail Distribution and Logistics.

  • Ability to develop resources and cross functional team needs, gain alignment on cross functional planning and execution.

  • Ability to foster cross-functional relationships at all levels of Management

  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information and provide strong recommendations
