The Joining Forces Ending Violence Against Children Coalition Project Manager role is to lead and support program activities designed by the partner members in country. The EVAC Coalition Project Manager will represent the three partner agencies to deliver planned activities according to the implementation plan and budget. ChildFund NZ, Save the Children NZ (SCNZ) and Solomon Islands, and World Vision NZ (WVNZ) and Solomon Islands (WVSI) (the partners), are collaboratively delivering a program that addresses Ending Violence Against Children (EVAC) in the Solomon Islands. Jointly funded by ChildFund NZ, WVNZ, Save the Children NZ, and the NZ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) under the Negotiated Partnership program, the 3.5-year program (starting February 2026) will work towards creating a world free from violence for all children, where children are empowered as agents of change. In 2019, the three partner NGO conducted a Child Protection Stakeholder mapping in the Solomon Islands. This included examining the current activities in EVAC and identifying unmet needs, Identifying existing knowledge and evidence base for EVAC programing in the Solomon Islands. The EVAC Project Manager will also with support from the Sector Portfolio Manager provide overall coordination and collaboration for the coalition member and relevant child protection stakeholders and the Child Protection team of WVSI.
The EVAC Project Manager will be expected to conduct some tasks that are not specified in the JD and to commit to the Biblical principle of ‘walking an extra mile’; sacrificing time for community work without further reward may be required at times.
