Job Summary: You will serve as a Section Supervisor in the Emergent Technology & Signature Analysis Branch of CARDEROCK DIV NS. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.

Major Duties:

  • You will provide oversight of the Submarine, Surface Ship, and Aircraft Carrier Vibration Monitoring Program.
  • You will manage emergent technology development for Navy Digital Twin OSAM.
  • You will serve as the technical point of contact for advanced fleet support and project management of acoustic signature programs.
  • You will analyze advanced machinery and hull vibration measurements.
  • You will provide advanced signature assessments with recommended corrective action on shipboard machinery systems.
  • You will collaborate, research and test advanced sensors, measurement/analysis systems, and technologies.
  • You will mentor junior level technicians.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 (GS-11/12 equivalency) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: serving as a senior technical authority in underwater acoustics and susceptibility, providing expert leadership, personnel supervision, and active mentorship to branch engineers on complex acoustic signature modeling and measurement; directing the validation of technical studies with national impact; and representing a major engineering division while collaborating with senior stakeholders across NAVSEA, the Fleet, and industry to shape and enforce signature requirements for mission-critical platforms.
