Job Summary: This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for Security Cooperation subject matter expert (SME) , supervising a regional team tasked with overseeing the execution of DSCA-managed SC programs on a regional basis.

Major Duties:

  • As a SUPERVISORY REGIONAL TEAM ADVISOR at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Liaisons, advises and manages regionally focused activities with the National Security Council and other interagency organizations, DOD, Department of State (DOS), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Security Cooperation Offices (SCO) in foreign countries on SC policy and Programs security goals. Coordinates and applies DOD policies, positions, plans and procedures related to the SC programs, including compliance with program policy guidance and budget execution, instructions, and applicable directives. Acts as Agency Point of Contact (POC) for regional activities to USG agencies, partner countries, and other interested parties.

Qualifications: You may qualify at the GSGS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Managing critical Department of Defense Security Cooperation programs (i.e. End Use Monitoring, Building Partner Capacity Section 333 Program, Defense Institution Capacity Building Section 332, Humanitarian and Assistance, Civilian Harm Mitigation, etc.) to execute national security objectives Serving as the point of contact on providing information regarding regional Security Cooperation activities to United States Government partners and foreign partners Providing strategic planning and policy implementation of various Security Cooperation programs Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
