SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Salary Range: $154454 - $197200 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in the Headquarters, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) and established to support the Logistics and Engineering Directorate (J4), Plans & Exercises Division (J46).

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the Principal Advisor to the Joint Logistics Director (J4), Joint Plans Director (J5), and Joint Exercise Director (J7) and other directors on all aspects of exercise planning and execution.
  • You will plan, synchronize, integrate and manage exercise concepts, logistics capability, employment of forces and equipment to support daily reports and briefings.
  • You will serve as Team Lead for command-wide efforts to develop and update USINDOPACOM’s joint exercise and logistics training event portfolio.
  • You will serve as Lead Exercise Planner for INDOPACOM Joint Exercises requiring the coordination of Concept, Initial, Mid and Final Planning conferences.
  • You will develop and integrate organizational structure to support the Combined and Joint Exercise Control Groups (JECG) for Mission Rehearsal Exercises (MRX), Command Post (CPXs), Staff (STAFFEX) and Field Training Exercises (FTXs).
  • You will coordinate all required component data calls, data compilation, joint manning document (JMD) requirements, funding staff functions, and decision briefings to develop resourcing options.
  • You will prepare, gather and analyze data on a variety of logistics processes and issues including adequacy of distribution planning and execution across Future Operations and Future Planning efforts.
  • You will support USINDOPACOM J5 planning efforts to develop logistics and sustainment inputs to USINDOPACOM plans.
  • You will develop, synchronize and integrate directorate Joint Mission Essential Task List (JMETL) items and their associated training objectives appropriate to each assigned Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) exercise.
  • You will direct the collection of lessons learned generated during the execution of assigned exercises.
  • You will ensure that the After Action Report (AAR) process addresses the training status of all exercise JMETLs that were built into the exercise structure.
  • You will participate in or be responsible for the development, refinement, and publication of USINDOPACOM policies, instructions, and directives.
  • You will identify USINDOPACOM distribution challenges and gaps related to access, basing, storage, transload and overflight limitations and proposes solutions to increase effectiveness and resolve shortfalls.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Expertise in theater and joint missions, logistics functions and operations to perform extensive coordination, integration and implementation of exercises.; 2) Thorough knowledge of operational and contingency response requirements, service doctrine, joint doctrine, multi-national partnerships, plans, command relationships, the joint crisis planning process and key DOD documents are required to effectively apply key decision making responsibilities to constantly changing fleet and exercise programs.; 3) Command expert on the interpretation and practical application of OPLANS and policies, to include the development and implementation of those plans and policies, especially as they may apply to readiness and doctrine and the ability to interpret how it may affect the commands Integrated Priorities List (IPL), Program Objective Memorandum (POM) Budget and risk assessment.
