JOB MISSION:
The Global Merchandising Planning Associate is a key contributor on the Global Merchandising Team, supporting the Manager in driving seasonal planning, forecasting, and analytics across all Global Business Units (GBUs), channels, and regions. This role partners on tops-down planning within Anaplan, builds and maintains reporting in Power BI and Excel, and translates complex data into actionable insights that inform key business decisions throughout the seasonal lifecycle.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Support the Manager with Tops-Down planning within Anaplan, shaping the business by GBU, Business, Channel, Sub-Channel, and Region
Support the Manager with processes and goals regarding the following essential planning procedures within Anaplan: Program Plans, Line Plan Architecture, Lifecycle Management
Develop reporting and analysis comparisons throughout the seasonal planning and forecasting process within Anaplan, ensuring alignment between Tops-Down, Middle-Out, and Bottoms-Up planning
Report Creation & Management (Anaplan, Power BI, Excel, future software)
Merchandising & Product Monthly GFA Analysis: Create and analyze in-depth PowerPoint presentations for each GBU, tracking monthly GFA changes
Serve as the point person for the Manager, providing category-specific information regarding monthly GFA changes, lifecycle plans, and other key insights.
Analyze long-range plan, detailed line plan, forecast, and order information data
Innovate current tools and processes
Support new system integration initiatives as needed
Anaplan Tops-Down & AP Comparison Reviews
Support the Manager and the Global Merchandising Team with seasonal milestones and recurring meetings
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
2+ years of experience in analytics, merchandising, business planning, or related business experience; BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field
Exposure to Anaplan, other planning platforms, or tops-down analytical frameworks is a plus
Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau), Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic environment
Comfort working with data; highly detail-oriented
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret both qualitative and quantitative data
Demonstrated strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple team members and stakeholders
Leadership and team-building skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team

Flexible Work Schedule

Our North American hybrid model encourages rich in-person experiences, showcasing our commitment to teamwork and connection, while maintaining flexibility for associates. New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced “Work from Anywhere” (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year.
