Job Summary: This position is located at Department of Housing and Urban Development OIG, Office of Investigation. As a Supervisory Criminal Investigator, you will serve as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (SAC) and will be responsible for planning, directing, organizing, and managing the work of the Division and for effective and efficient use of resources consistent with OIG investigative program policy and directives.

Major Duties:

• As a Supervisory Criminal Investigator, you will: Oversee the completion of sensitive investigations, some of which may be national in nature, which require the incumbent to possess a certain level of expertise in the review of Department programs and operations and knowledgeable of investigation policies and procedures. Assist the Director in managing/supervising, directing, and controlling all staff assignments and for the utilization of investigation resources consistent with OIG policy and directives. Maintain operational oversight over field offices relating to investigations of the main program areas of HUD and directs subordinate personnel to pursue investigations that have the greatest impact on HUD's programs and operations. Ensures that field investigations result in the consideration of all remedies being made available to HUD, to include criminal/civil prosecution, PFCRA, suspension, debarment and other administrative actions as deemed appropriate. Support Director as the investigative liaison focal point for programmatic fraud and integrity issues with senior-level components of the Department, including the Office of General Counsel and all OIG district offices. Advise and coordinate with senior government officials within and outside the Department, including the senior staff having oversight and responsibility for each respective functional program area, the Department of Justice, the United States Attorney's Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Qualifications: You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Age Restriction: The date immediately preceding an individual's 37th birthday is the maximum entry age for original appointment to a law enforcement officer position. This requirement does not apply to a) Preference-eligible veterans; OR b) Individuals who are 37 years of age or older and have previously served in law enforcement officer positions that were covered by a special law enforcement retirement plan. AND Medical Requirements: The selectee must pass a pre-appointment physical examination and meet the physical requirements for this position as required by this agency. The duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that applicants may perform the duties satisfactorily. Sufficiently good vision and hearing are required to perform the duties satisfactorily. Because the duties of this position are exacting, responsible, and sometimes performed under trying conditions, the selectee must possess emotional and mental stability. Any physical condition that would cause the selectee to be a hazard to himself/herself, or others is disqualifying The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Leading criminal investigations involving fraud, public corruption, and misuse of housing program funds by using surveillance, interviews, financial analysis, and digital evidence collection to gather and evaluate information, identify violations, and prepare reports, affidavits, and case documentation; AND - Coordinating investigative activities with prosecutors and partner law enforcement agencies to support enforcement decisions and ensure appropriate criminal, civil, and administrative outcomes.
