Salary Range: $125133 - $162672 Per Year
Job Summary: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Senior Contracting Official within Headquarters, Directorate of Contracting. This is a permanent supervisory position. This is for one vacancy only, preferred duty location is Atlanta, GA- other USACE duty locations listed may be negotiated.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Basic Requirement: Degree: I have a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Exemption: I do not meet the education requirements above. However, I am either (A) a current civilian employee in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000; OR (B) I am a current military member who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent)-1102 on or before September 30, 2000. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes: 1) applying procurement technical expertise to provide guidance, formulate guidelines, implement new developments, and provide policy interpretation; 2) managing and coordinating contractual actions occurring concurrently; 3) providing supervisory and managerial oversight for the personnel management of contracting/procurement staff; 4) formulating and executing comprehensive acquisition strategies and plans; managing principles, techniques and acceptable practices as well as technical advice on propriety of statutory, regulatory and procedural requirements within the organization; AND 5) developing short and long range plans to effectively utilize contractual/acquisition resources to accomplish the organization's goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP) in the Defense Acquisition Workforce. As a condition of employment, selectee(s) must meet the following minimum qualifications or have an approved waiver signed by the DACM before the final job offer is made: Have at least four years of acquisition experience. Be DAWIA Contracting Professional certified within their specified grace period. Sign a written tenure agreement to remain in the Federal service in this position for at least 3 years.
