Duration: 6 weeks starting in July 2026.   

Salary: £3,500  

   

Who We Are   

Manthorpe Building Products is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of plastic injection moulded, vacuum formed and extruded products for the building industry.

What You’ll Be Doing  

As an intern on our team, you'll gain hands-on experience in process improvement and manufacturing operations. Your work will include:

  • Work with our team to identify and improve processes. You’ll engage in hands-on analysis of production lines and map out workflow processes.

  • Dive deep into a specific production line, mapping the workflow and identifying at least three key areas for improvement—think reducing cycle time or minimising equipment downtime.

  • Compile your findings into a concise report with actionable recommendations, along with a presentation to share with the team, sparking discussions on potential changes.

Who We’re Looking For  

We’re seeking an intern who brings a mix of curiosity, practical thinking, and a passion for improvement. Ideal candidates will have:

  • An interest in and familiarity with fields such as Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex processes

  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal

  • A hands-on approach and willingness to engage directly with production environments

  • Sharp attention to detail and an understanding of basic safety protocols in an industrial setting

  • A creative, curious mindset with a drive to ask questions, explore ideas, and suggest improvements
