Job Description:

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, the Law Center’s Student Affairs Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for several student affairs functions (including Admissions, Records, and the Office of Student Affairs) at the LSU Law Center. The coordinator is responsible for assisting with the daily management of the shared office space and coordination of incoming student needs. The Coordinator assists with the management of walk-in, telephone, and email inquiries and the delivery of accurate and timely information and will provide office assistance to the Admissions, Records, and Student Affairs offices. The Coordinator must possess the ability to assess student needs along with the ability to be sensitive towards difficult and unique situations, all while maintaining confidentiality. The Coordinator will engage with Law Center faculty, staff, and students daily. The Coordinator will work to effectively execute programmatic and administrative duties. The position is a public- and student-facing position which requires professionalism along with the ability to multitask while managing a variety of demands, while maintaining strong working relationships between all Law Center constituencies. This is a non-exempt, hourly position.

Job Responsibilities:

30% Aid all visitors to the Office of Admissions, Records, and Student Affairs, serving as the first point of contact for walk-ins, and managing phone and email correspondence, all while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.

30% Perform clerical and administrative duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Director of Admissions, and Director of Records; organize and support office programming; provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.

15% Assist with the maintenance of student records.

15% Assist with hosting events and the scheduling and supervision of student workers.

10% Communicate and order materials on behalf of the Offices of Admissions, Records, and Student Affairs; additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and some related experience required.

Proficient in Microsoft Product Suite. Ability to learn and use new technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in higher education and/or programming. Familiarity with academic systems.
