Storekeeper

Our Engineering team plays a vital role in keeping our vehicles safe, reliable and on the road, ensuring our customers can travel with confidence every day.

We’re looking for a Storekeeper to join our Engineering team, responsible for managing the day‑to‑day stores function and ensuring parts and materials are available to support maximum vehicle availability across our operation.

Working closely with the Fleet Engineer, Engineering Supervisors, suppliers and wider teams, you’ll take ownership of stock control, ordering and record keeping, while ensuring the stores operate safely, securely and efficiently. From maintaining stock levels and processing orders to receiving goods and supporting audits, you’ll play a key role in supporting our engineering operation.

This role offers a stable, hands‑on opportunity within a fast‑paced operational environment where accuracy, organisation and teamwork are essential.
You may also be required to support stock counts at other garages within the operating area on occasion.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

What you’ll do:

• Manage the stores function to ensure parts and materials are available to meet operational needs
• Liaise regularly with the Fleet Engineer and Engineering Supervisors regarding current and future stock requirements
• Maintain agreed stock levels and ensure accurate computer and paper‑based records
• Carry out regular stock checks and investigate any discrepancies
• Create and raise orders for engineering parts, tools and materials, liaising with suppliers as required
• Source alternative suppliers where necessary and raise purchase orders for premises and plant maintenance
• Receive, unload, store and issue materials safely and securely
• Control warranty materials and liaise with suppliers to ensure correct processes are followed and credits received
• Maintain the stores area in a safe, tidy and secure condition
• Prepare reports on stock availability and spend in line with agreed procedures
• Support health and safety standards within the stores environment

What we need from you:

• Experience in a stores, stock control or warehouse environment
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Confidence using computer systems and maintaining accurate records
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy operational setting
• A proactive and reliable approach, with good problem‑solving skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
• An understanding of health and safety in a stores or warehouse environment
