Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Fluctuating Temps hot/cold, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), No contact lens allowed; prescriptive glasses will be provided, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift, Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

DESCRIPTION

How will you make an impact?

Perform duties or necessary functions to produce Zeta Plus media stock in compliance with good manufacturing practices and quality standards.

What will you do?

  • Perform duties in compliance with good manufacturing practices as described or detailed in work instructions
  • Follow standard MLC's, work instructions/SWF regarding mixtures, quantities, times and product quality
  • Ensure correct materials are available and being used
  • Operate computer equipment in order to properly carry out functions in preparing various stocks
  • Operate fork truck or material handling equipment in order to carry out stock prep functions
  • Run various tests associated with job requirement, i.e. freeness testing, PH test and slurry temperature testing
  • Carry out air flow and tensile testing on occasion
  • Seek advice or assistance as necessary, regarding batch formulations, quality standards, machine functions, and other related matters or problems
  • Observe all plant rules and safety regulations
  • Complete necessary sign off on required documents
  • Keep workstations neat, clean and orderly
  • Carry out minor repair or maintenance functions
  • Perform other related duties as required or jobs involving similar qualifications as required
  • Handle hazardous waste as needed
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance
  • Perform regular tank cleanings
  • Maintain current training on LOTO and Confined Space Entry as part of regular tank cleaning tasks
  • Complete other miscellaneous duties (including training) as assigned by department supervision/leadership

REQUIREMENTS

How will you get here?

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Able to use simple measuring devices
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic reading skills
  • Ability to operate fork truck
  • Able to wear respirator

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Heavy physical effort (up to 50 lbs)
  • Able to work 12 hour rotating shifts
  • Must perform all essential functions of the position as identified on the applicable Employer Job Description maintained in the Occupational Health Office

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $20.72–$31.09.
