The Customer & Markets (C&M) team takes a global lead role in conduct related strategy development and risk management in the customer protection area and in relation to market activities undertaken by ING, as a key financial player.
During this STA you will be involved in managing compliance risks related to the following two risks: (i) risk of ING not appropriately addressing risks related to its markets activities, which pose risks to our customers, the bank and fair and orderly markets (ii) risk of not treating our customers fairly by not having our customer’s best interests in mind.
The Team
The Customer & Markets (C&M) team is part of the Compliance Conduct & Ethics (CC&E) team within Group Compliance. The C&M team consists of 8 Compliance Officers with various backgrounds.
Roles and responsibilities
For the STA you will act as a Compliance Officer in the C&M team, together with the team:
You ensure the update and roll-out of policies, procedures and a generic control standard, assume an advisory role with constructive, pragmatic and reflective advice, provide for waivers and deviations while continuously reflecting on process improvements;
You are involved in C&M related Risk identification, Risk Appetite Statement, Risk-specific risk assessments, Training, Issue Tracking, Investigations, Risk-specific reporting, particularly in relation to market conduct;
You evaluate policies and business processes that are in scope of the C&M team and identify and drive efficiency and effectiveness gains; and
You design, build and steer a C&M market conduct global community to share knowledge and implement, from Global to Local, sustainable Policy standards in all business units.

For the STA we are looking for a colleague who has the following traits and experience:

You have a solid and practical knowledge of, or are willing to learn about, customer protection and market regulation through implementing regulations such as MAR or MiFID at either a business or support function level;
You have a solid understanding of client processes, products, services and client needs across ING, its business lines and organizational units;
You are keen to review and will be able to challenge our (data) processes and make suggestions for improvement, if needed:
Preferably, you have approximately 8 years of experience in financial or non-financial risk management activities such as conducting risk (self) assessments, key control testing; working with risk frameworks, issue management, financial or non-financial risk reporting;
You are able to work in a highly complex and challenging environment, both change and BAU, while identifying actions needed to achieve results. You are able to emphasizes the importance of results and create a sense of urgency
You have a practical and innovative mind and propose potential solutions when problems arise; and
You adhere to the ING values making your behaviour fully aligned with our values.
