Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the technical and business architecture of large-scale healthcare information systems (e.g., HIS, EMR, PACS, LIS), ensuring alignment between technical capabilities and clinical/business needs.
  • Translate clinical workflows and business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable software architectures.
  • Drive end-to-end architecture decisions across backend services, frontend UI, data storage, integration, and deployment pipelines, while ensuring alignment with business KPIs and product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with product managers, clinical experts, and business stakeholders to define system requirements, prioritize features, and identify technical enablers for business growth.
  • Apply principles of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and methodologies such as Lean/Agile/XP, CI/CD, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, Refactoring, and Testing Techniques.
  • Develop and maintain architecture blueprints, integration strategies, and scalability plans aligned with healthcare industry standards (e.g., HL7, DICOM, FHIR).
  • Guide and mentor software development teams in best practices for architecture design, code quality, performance optimization, and security.
  • Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, frameworks, and tools that align with long-term product vision and business strategy.
  • Lead technical due diligence and system integration efforts during hospital deployments and upgrades, while considering business impact and ROI.
  • Stay current with industry trends and innovations in healthcare IT, cloud computing, and AI-enabled clinical workflows, and assess their business applicability.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in software development and architecture, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead architect role.
  • Deep expertise in Java-based enterprise architecture, including Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, service mesh technologies.
  • Strong understanding of frontend technologies (e.g., React, Vue, Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS) and full-stack integration patterns.
  • Proficient in database architecture and data modeling, with experience in relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), and tools like JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, Spring Data.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying complex hospital information systems in real-world clinical environments.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, DICOM, FHIR, and IHE integration profiles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Azure) and containerized deployment (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of mentoring engineering teams and influencing technical strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with non-technical stakeholders, understand business objectives, and translate them into technical strategies.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Prior experience in an Agile/XP environment, with a solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and software security best practices.
