Job Summary

The Senior Project Scheduler provides advanced integrated schedule management within the Project Controls organization. This role ensures that project management methodologies, processes, tools, and information systems are seamlessly aligned with the project schedule throughout the entire project life cycle.

You will develop, maintain, and manage integrated project baselines, ensure alignment between scope–cost–schedule–risk, and apply predictive and risk‑driven scheduling techniques to support informed project decision‑making. As a subject matter expert, you will guide project teams in applying best‑practice scheduling, risk, and quality management to improve schedule accuracy, predictability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Integrated Schedule Management

  • Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules and baselines using industry standards (AACE, PMI, Construction Management Institute, etc.).
  • Perform schedule initiation, progressive elaboration, status, assessment, and analysis throughout the project life cycle.
  • Apply predictive, opportunity‑based schedule management to identify optimum paths forward and increase schedule accuracy and precision.
  • Integrate scope, resources, duration estimates, logic, risk data, and performance metrics to create high‑quality schedules.

Risk, Quality, and Cost Integration

  • Incorporate quantitative and qualitative risk management tools (e.g., EMV, sensitivity analysis) into schedule development and forecasting.
  • Apply cost‑of‑quality principles to schedule planning, monitoring, and control.
  • Integrate cost and schedule forecasting to support timely corrective, preventive, and predictive actions.

Contract & Commercial Management

  • Support contract performance assessments, schedule compliance reviews, change management forecasting, and commercial impact evaluations.
  • Provide recommendations to the Project Manager and Project Controls leadership based on contract and schedule analysis.

Project Controls Leadership

  • Lead and influence project stakeholders through effective communication, situational leadership, and stakeholder management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for project managers, major project leaders, and other stakeholders regarding scheduling and integrated project planning.
  • Ensure project planning and scheduling processes, standards, and job aids are applied consistently and effectively.

Tool & System Integration

  • Utilize Primavera P6 and other project management tools (estimating systems, resource databases, risk systems, dashboards, etc.) to support tailored project reporting.
  • Produce standard and advanced schedule reports for project teams and stakeholders.
  • Drive integration of people, processes, tools, and data to advance the probability of project success.

Essential Functions

  • Increase proficiency in schedule development, analysis, and integrated cost–schedule forecasting.
  • Create and manage risk‑adjusted integrated project baselines.
  • Tailor schedule management processes, tools, and techniques to project needs.
  • Lead progressive schedule analysis to identify opportunities, avoid negative variances, and support predictive actions.
  • Manage performance baselines and forecast schedule variances (SV) with a focus on opportunity‑based planning.
  • Provide continuous life‑cycle schedule management using risk‑driven forecasting.
  • Generate comprehensive schedule reporting and participate in special project schedule reviews.
  • Optimize lifecycle costing considerations within schedule planning.
  • Promote integrated thinking to enhance objective project performance.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following paths:

Path A:

  • High School Diploma
  • 4+ years experience working as a scheduler

Path B:

  • High School Diploma
  • 6+ years construction or engineering experience, including 2+ years as a project scheduler

Additional Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and spreadsheet management
  • Experience in large industrial capital project environments
  • Strong understanding of scope–schedule–cost integration and risk–quality management
  • Working knowledge of project management guidelines, standards, and processes
  • Proficiency in risk and quality management tools and techniques
  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to read, assess, and interpret complex project schedules
  • Valid in‑state driver’s license at time of hire

Salary Range*:

$96,600.00 - $144,900.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
