POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for ensuring that all CARD’s IT projects meet customer expectations while ensuring consistency of project execution across projects. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work within the constraints of budget, schedule, and scope in guiding and mentoring a project management team while providing direct oversight of critical projects when needed. Managing technical projects from initial requirements through to general release. This includes direct management of all tasks and people working to deliver the agreed-upon scope while maintaining quality and budget goals. This position reports to CARD CTO. The Senior Project Manager will evangelize project management processes, best practices and tools and function as a gatekeeper responsible for leading cross-functional technical teams both on-shore and off-shore for technical projects of varying size, complexity and urgency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drives projects through the requirements, design, development, testing and release phases of the project lifecycle, closely coordinating with all appropriate technical, business and operational stakeholders.
Coordinates with business and technical leads to understand all aspects of product requirements.
Proficiency in Software Development Life Cycle and application development process.
Validates the estimates provided by Technology resources.
Develops, manages and maintains detailed project schedules, working closely with the involved departments; ensures that all deliverables are accounted for and completed on time.
Coordinates plans for testing and release, including QA, UAT and regression testing and tracks the project through the QA cycle to ensure adherence to plans.
Communicates effectively with various departments and staff at all levels to keep the company apprised of project status, ensuring cohesiveness, clarity and efficiency.
Identifies and addresses project interdependencies, risks and issues; resolves conflicts and plans optimal delivery sequences for projects.
Manages multiple, often large, projects of different priorities that may have business dependencies.
Act as Scrum Master for one or more IT teams, while also helping prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders
Lead global and local IT teams and foster an environment of continuous improvement
Identifies opportunities for and contributes to project management process improvements.
Evangelizes PMO best practices to help streamline Technology’s processes.
Represent CARD professionally and ethically to internal and external stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
BS in Computer Science or related Engineering field preferred
10+ years of Project Management experience
PMP certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Microsoft Project expertise required
Jira utilization experience required
Proven record of working with business and Engineering leadership to improve delivery
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience managing personnel and disbursed teams (on-shore and off-shore)
Demonstrable experience managing multiple critical projects
Proven track record of delivering projects on-time and on-budget
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with external partners, clients, team members, vendors, and management
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse cross-disciplinary team of developers
Experience solving a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways, and evaluating alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams
Knowledge of software engineering principles, theories, concepts, techniques, industry practices
Experience generating requirements/specifications and high level design and process risk assessments
Experience managing hardware and software integrated projects as well as software only projects
Familiarity with Agile development and processes preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in AGILE/SCRUM methodologies
Expert level knowledge of software project management methodologies and tracking/reporting tools (JIRA, MS-Project, Smartsheet)
Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills
Ability to lead cross-functional teams with a proven track record of delivery
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Includes a typical remote office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to work on a computer throughout the majority of the day, as tasks require
Ability to use and speak on the phone or via teleconference, as needed throughout the day
