Position Summary

The Senior Manager, IT Enterprise Architect will play a strategic leadership role in defining and executing the enterprise technology vision. This role partners closely with business leaders, product teams, and IT delivery organizations to ensure technology investments align with business strategy, scale across retail and healthcare operations, and support long-term agility.

You will lead enterprise architecture practices across retail stores, e-commerce, animal welfare hospitals, and corporate systems, guiding modernization efforts including cloud adoption, application rationalization, integration platforms, and data architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Strategy

  • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment with business strategy and transformation initiatives
  • Establish architecture standards, principles, and reference models across applications, data, integration, and infrastructure
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that drive scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency

Transformation & Modernization

  • Lead application and system modernization initiatives, including legacy replacement, cloud migration, and platform consolidation
  • Guide architecture decisions supporting omnichannel retail, digital commerce, in-store systems, and healthcare service platforms
  • Ensure architectures support regulatory, privacy, and security requirements, especially within veterinary and healthcare operations

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with business executives, product owners, and IT leaders to translate business capabilities into technology solutions
  • Influence and guide solution architects and delivery teams to ensure consistent architectural outcomes
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology strategy and investment decisions

Governance & Delivery Enablement

  • Establish and lead architecture governance processes to ensure adherence to standards while enabling speed and innovation
  • Review and approve solution designs for major initiatives
  • Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term architectural health

People & Practice Leadership

  • Mentor and develop architecture talent across the organization
  • Build a scalable enterprise architecture practice that supports ongoing growth and transformation

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience with 5+ years in enterprise or domain architecture leadership
  • Experience leading architecture for large-scale retail, e-commerce, or multi-location service organizations
  • Strong background in application architecture, integration patterns, cloud platforms, and data architecture
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-enterprise transformation initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders

Preferred

  • Experience supporting healthcare, veterinary, or regulated service environments
  • Hands-on experience with modern cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Familiarity with microservices, API-first design, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration platforms
  • Experience in organizations undergoing large-scale digital transformation

If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.
