A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As the Senior Manager, Global Trade Management within our Global Supply Chain organization you will ensure that MKS’ US import and export activities comply with international trade laws and regulations. This role will manage global trade compliance processes, from documentation to risk management, ensuring accurate tracking, classification, and regulatory compliance.  Additionally, you will collaborate with external customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth import/export processes and avoid delays.  This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative international environment navigating multiple, organizations, sites, cultures and practices. You will report to the Director of Global Trade Compliance.

You Make an Impact By:

  • Helping to identify potential trade compliance risks such as restricted parties, classification errors, proper licenses, & documentation gaps and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with import and export related operational tasks and special projects as needed. Responsibilities include global HTS classification at the defined country level and global export license management.
  • Work with engineering and other key stakeholders to understand technical requirements to assure appropriate HTS classifications and country of origin determination.
  • Working closely with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary information and resolve compliance issues. Resolving missing or incomplete documentation issues by coordinating with relevant parties to obtain and submit the required paperwork.
  • Leverage global trade management system, externally provided trade data (ACE, broker/ forwarder data) and MKS ERPs to review alerts & notifications, examine trade data and identify patterns or anomalies that may indicate compliance risks.
  • Support MKS’s US duty drawback, TIB, preferential trade qualifications (USMCA, KORUS, ILFTA, etc.)  and FTZ operations.
  • Provide data analysis to improve the integrity and efficiency of MKS global trade compliance program.
  • Ensure global compliance programs support MKS trade compliance policies and Export / Import laws and regulations where applicable by country.

Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in import/export compliance, international trade, or a related field
  • Knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, export control laws (EAR, ITAR), and other global trade compliance frameworks
  • Experience with customs software and trade compliance tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, E2Open, or compliance-specific platforms)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations
  • Customs Brokers License a plus
