Sr. Data Analyst - Spend Management

Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Senior Data Analyst, plays a crucial role in establishing standards, maintaining the analytics pipeline of initiatives, and building processes to improve efficiency across end-to-end analytics workflows. This role transforms complex, multi-source data into actionable insights that drives enterprise-wide decision making. The Senior Data Analyst also independently identifies emerging trends, savings opportunities, and performance gaps.
This role has deep expertise in supply chain processes, healthcare data structures, and integrations across ERP, EMR, GPO and other related systems. They lead design and development of custom analytics tools, templates, and processes used across the health system. Additionally, the role provides mentorship within the analytics team, drives process improvement, and helps to keep focus on the pipeline of initiatives. The Senior Data Analyst works autonomously, handles complex projects, and communicates with clarity to leaders and executives across the health system.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Drive enterprise-wide savings opportunity identification and communicates to leaders across Spend Management
- Maintain the analytics pipeline of initiatives for each functional domain
- Serve as the lead for complex projects and initiatives across multiple domains
- Establish analytical focus through planning and evidence-based recommendations
- Collaborate with key clinical leaders on data needs and initiatives
- Identify key opportunities for better utilization management, contract compliance, and standardization
- Lead discovery sessions to establish long term best practice, processes, and procedures
- Present strategic initiatives and their findings to key leaders in Spend Management, Finance, and Clinical
- Support change management and training on new processes, new tools and new solutions
- Mentor data analysts and assist with removing roadblocks or initiating escalations to leader(s)
- Lead ERP report writer
- Lead on the development of self-service tools with Business Intelligence
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Analytics or a related field of study from an accredited college or university. AND
- 4 or more years of experience in data analysis and structured writing in a healthcare environment. OR
- 8 or more years of supply chain experience in data analysis.
Required Language Skills
- Fluent English - Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Knowledge Requirements
- Superior communication and presentation skills
- Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Excel
- Knowledge of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) tools, data feeds, and analytics capabilities with an emphasis on Vizient
- Ability to prioritize initiatives based on the business need
- Ability to assign initiatives and balance workload across available resources
- Knowledge or Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) systems with an emphasis on Workday
- Knowledge of health system item masters and the impact to analytics
- Strong ability to document standards, workflows, train to them
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex datasets and generate meaningful insights
- Knowledge of inventory management principles
