This role is part of a high‑performing team of technical and commercial sales specialists focused on proposal development. They work closely with sales, engineering, product management, and supply chain to deliver best‑fit nuclear control valve solutions. The role owns nuclear control valve project proposals and requires a strong theoretical foundation, mastery of relevant valve technologies, and well‑developed functional expertise to translate customer requirements into technically aligned solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations across the full project lifecycle.
As a Specialized Application Engineer – Nuclear, you will be responsible for:
Providing technical expertise and developing technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economics, etc.) as part of the pre‑ITO (requisition) process while interfacing with the commercial team. Possessing a deep understanding of relevant markets and customer economic value that aid winning bid strategies. To include 'ITO': Conducting technical analysis of client need: definition and optimization of the products; scope (description); schedule; industrial scheme; cost, considering contract and internal policies and procedures.
Calculating plant, system and equipment performance and efficiency. Documenting technical specifications & costing elements for further contract execution phases. This also includes OTR part where engineers are working on customizing the products and implementing it for specific customer needs.
Developing new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations.
Working together with business leadership at Senior and Executive level. Specifying needs, communicating about project approach and presenting outcomes of research done.
Delivering products as part of a team. Working on cross‑functional teams. Alternatively: Leading analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.
Driving continuous improvement of the Commercial and Application Engineering team to best position our solutions based on external market requirements.
Demonstrating accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Leading the development of control valve proposals, driving configuration, timing, quality, and competitiveness to match customer critical requirements.
Communicating across direct organization. Providing to control valve leadership and guidance during the deal review process to ensure that all technical risks, mitigation, and business risks acceptance levels are properly incorporated in the development of the scope, cost and proposal wording to deliver safe and profitable contracts for valve factories.
To be successful in this role you will:
Have Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Engineering/Technology). Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Customer Application Engineering or similar work.
Have demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
Have strong oral and written communication skills.
Have strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to influence others and lead projects. Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact. Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Effective problem identification and solution skills. Proven analytical and organizational ability.
Desired Characteristics-
Have minimum 5-year experience in application engineering, industrial sales, and/or customer service.
Have minimum 5-year experience in application engineering within the control valve and/or process automation industry.
Have experience working in diverse, virtual teams.
Have experience working with the application and administration of control valves.
