Job Duties:

Plan, direct, or coordinate, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Includes managers in specialized construction fields, such as carpentry or plumbing.

Manage the full construction field technology life-cycle on multiple projects from start to finish ranging in size. Provide teams with Existing Conditions Survey. Support the implementation and maintenance of Site & Building Control, with Layout. Support Progress Documentation for overall quality contril. Provide monthly status and forecasting reports. Management will be of projects within our core markets: healthcare, higher education, advanced technology, life sciences and commercial. Project managers will work closely with all members of the project team, project executives and regional leadership teams and will be responsible for the following: Management of all project team members (senior project engineer, project engineers and field technicians). Mentor, develop and train project engineers/ field technicians for fast-paced growth. 100% detailed/hands-on knowledge of project specific field technology scope. Cost control/billings/collections/change management/cash flows/monthly status reports. Key point of contact with internal stakeholders.  Challenge and support jobsite and self-perform work teams. Accountable for project completion and financials, critical success factors, and customer satisfaction results. Coordinate and manage the execution of planning and scheduling of field technology scopes on projects.

Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites within commuting distance of DPR Construction, A General Partnership’s Reston, VA office.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering/Management or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a civil/construction engineering-related occupation. Special Requirements:

Position requires the following license/certification:

  • FAA – Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drones) Remote Pilot Certificate/License

Position requires at least four (4) years of experience in each of the following skills:

  • Understand and navigate preconstruction documents such as specs submittals, contract documents, and RFIs using software like ACC Build, Smart Bid, and Procore to design a multidisciplinary and project-specific approach to the Filed Technology scope of work.
  • Utilize the knowledge of construction plans, sequencing, production rates, and unit prices while balancing resource constraints such as time, costs, and manpower to create construction field technology estimates for various projects using software like MS Excel, smartsheet, WinEst, and EDGE
  • Utilize the knowledge of project management software like CMiC, MS Projects, and Excel to plan, review, finalize, and manage overall project budgets; analyze cost and labor productivity reports, financial forecasts, and billings for ongoing projects.
  • Utilize the knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Leica TruView software to create construction verification and quality control deliverables.
  • Utilize the knowledge of point cloud data processing software like FARO Scene, Leica Register 360, and Autodesk Recap to process, analyze, evaluate, and verify field-collected terrestrial laser scan data.

Position requires at least one (1) year of experience in each of the following skills:

  • Utilize knowledge of FAA Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) to assess airspace requirements, submit authorization requests to the FAA’s LAANC system, plan, perform, and/or oversee the sUAS (drone) operations on various project sites.
  • Utilize the knowledge of advanced photogrammetry software DroneDeploy, Terra, and Pix4D to process field-captured sUAS (drone) data and provide actionable insights to on-site project teams.
  • Utilize the knowledge of survey and construction layout, leverage software like Leica Infinity, Leica Captivate, and Trimble Connect to validate design coordinates, establish additional control networks; setup and manage site and building control networks throughout the construction project lifecycle
  • Utilize the knowledge of advanced robotic layout technologies to plan, execute, and oversee the implementation of layout robots like Dusty, Site Print, and Light YX on various construction projects for different building types.
  • Utilize the knowledge of software like Cosential and PowerBI to forecast and maintain potential upcoming opportunities. Proactively discuss the potential benefits of leveraging field technology with key internal stakeholders to develop a joint strategy for construction project success.
  • Utilize the knowledge of terrestrial laser scanning, mobile LiDAR, SLAM, and photogrammetry to plan, perform, and oversee the deployment of Reality Capture technologies for existing conditions survey, quality control, and construction progress tracking.
