LGT

Solution Engineer

Sydney Full time

LGT Wealth Management was formed around a clear and uncompromising vision – to bring global best practice in building institutional quality investment portfolios to Australian clients.

With a shared passion for building an uncompromised business – we created something new from the ground up. A chance to leave behind the things that weren’t working, while enhancing the things that were. Our authentic and personalised client-first commitment. Our entrepreneurial spirit. Our focus in best-in-class advice. And our intimate understanding of the Australian private wealth landscape.

In 2022 we became a part of the LGT Group, who shared our entrepreneurial spirit, long-term approach and private-ownership model. Today, with the global expertise, stability, and capability of LGT behind us, we can work without being reliant on markets or margins, with a singular focus on giving our clients the advice and deep expertise they need for generations to come.

We are seeking a Solution Engineer to join our Engineering team within the broader Technology function under a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is pivotal in shaping the technology landscape that underpins our client experience, operational efficiency, and long‑term strategic growth.

As a Solution Engineer, you will translate business needs into scalable, secure, and cost‑effective technology designs. You will partner closely with stakeholders across the business and Group Technology to deliver integrated solutions that align with our global standards and local priorities.

Your Impact & Contribution

  • Provide hands‑on support during build, integration, and deployment phases, including prototypes, reference implementations, and technical troubleshooting.

  • Lead end‑to‑end solution architecture across the full project lifecycle from requirements and conceptual design through to build, testing, deployment, and transition to operations.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand needs, constraints, and strategic objectives, ensuring solutions are fit‑for‑purpose and aligned with long‑term goals.

  • Develop high‑level and detailed solution designs, including architecture diagrams, integration patterns, data flows, and security considerations.

  • Evaluate technologies and platforms, recommending options that balance cost, scalability, performance, and alignment with Group Technology standards.

  • Embed “security by design” principles into all architecture and design activities.

  • Collaborate with engineers, developers, and Group Technology teams to validate and refine solution designs.

  • Support functional and non‑functional testing to ensure solution integrity and performance.

  • Produce high‑quality documentation, runbooks, and knowledge‑sharing materials for operational teams.

  • Contribute to the technology strategy, design standards, and continuous improvement of engineering and delivery practices.

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience in building and developing technology solutions, including configuration, integration, and automation activities as required.

  • Deliver technical support and guidance throughout solution implementation, assisting in the resolution of design and build challenges.

  • Experience designing and architecting business‑critical systems in complex environments.

  • Strong ability to collaborate, elicit requirements, and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Broad knowledge of IT technologies, cloud platforms, integration patterns, and security principles.

  • Excellent technical writing skills, with the ability to produce clear architecture and design documentation.

  • Proven experience working alongside engineering teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.

  • Track record of improving design, development, or delivery processes.

  • Ability to align technology decisions with business strategy and long‑term objectives.

  • Analytical, structured problem‑solver with strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and proactively.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 5+ years’ experience in solution design, architecture, or technical consulting roles.

  • Certifications in cloud, architecture, or design frameworks (e.g., AWS, Azure, TOGAF) are advantageous.
