We are looking for a Software Engineering & Development, MD reporting directly to Software Engineering & Development, SVP/SMD. You will lead engineering teams focused on data and analytics services delivery for State Street Investment Services Technology, bringing a strong track record of technology project execution, ability to drive solutions architecture, hands-on expertise across analysis, design, and development, and the creativity and self-motivation required to deliver mission‑critical initiatives.

What you will be responsible for

As a Software Engineering & Development, MD, you will:

  • Have accountability and ownership for Data Services & Analytics platforms
  • Lead the solutions design process with business, clients, technologists, enterprise architecture, and vendor teams.
  • Mentor a global team of engineers
  • Oversee large projects and technology releases, ensuring quality and resiliency
  • Drive issue management, root cause analysis and remediation
  • Manage communications with business and client stakeholders
  • Ensure high resilience, availability, business continuity, and consistently improve the risk posture and reduce technical debt of the applications.
  • Cultivate robust partnerships with tech and business leaders
  • Manage execution within Platform Budget

  • Proven expertise across application development and maintenance in both on‑prem and cloud ecosystems
  • Strong capability in designing and solutioning complex services, systems, and scalable data platforms
  • Experience in identifying and managing Risk and building Resilient platforms
  • Experience delivering financial reporting and regulatory initiatives, with solid understanding of capital markets and securities concepts
  • Demonstrated leadership in SDLC execution, cost estimation, delivery planning, financial management, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure on‑time outcomes

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in computer science or related field
  • 15+ years of experience delivering and managing enterprise business solutions, with 10+ years leading data and analytics engineering teams

Additional requirements

  • Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with vendor engagement and management.
  • Experience supporting production systems in a highly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and partner effectively across business, product, operations, and technology teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and align teams to shared outcomes
  • Results‑oriented leader with a bias for action, accountability, and delivering measurable business impact
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, adapting quickly to evolving business needs and technology landscapes
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, talent development, and fostering a culture of learning and innovation

Work Requirement

  • In office 4 days a week
  • 9am to 5pm

Salary Range:

$170,000 - $282,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
