Are you a passionate, motivated Software Developer or Manager interested in a rewarding career in the Defense Industry?  We are looking for a Software Manager with defense experience to join our Advanced Products and Solutions (APS) team at Raytheon in Fort Wayne IN.

This position is responsible for managing the engineering development of software solutions for the Advanced Product and Solutions (APS) area within Raytheon. This role involves leading a team of engineers, driving innovative solutions, and ensuring the successful execution of advanced technology programs.

What You Will Do

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, organize, and develop a team of software engineers in the Advanced Product and Solutions group.
  • Conduct performance reviews, salary planning, and overall personnel development to ensure team growth and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment to drive advanced product development.

Technology and Innovation:

  • Drive the development of innovative software solutions, leveraging emerging technologies to meet mission-critical needs.
  • Guide the team in adopting modern software development practices, including Agile and DevOps methodologies.

Process and Quality Management:

  • Ensure compliance with Raytheon’s process and quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Deliver projects aligned to cost, schedule, and quality requirements while adhering to organizational methodologies.

Training and Development:

  • Develop the team through training programs and skill-building initiatives, ensuring alignment with advanced product needs.
  • Stay informed of emerging technologies in the APS domain and implement strategies to maintain the team's technical edge.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience managing multiple software programs or development tasks while meeting cost and schedule objectives.
  • Experience across all phases of software product development.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Agile development concepts and DevOps practices for automated build/test/release pipelines.
  • Experience with modern software development tools and configuration management systems, such as GIT or Subversion.
  • Knowledge of advanced software architectures, including cloud-based solutions, real-time systems, and embedded software.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
