Responsibilities 

  • Collaborating with APAC Legal, Compliance, and business teams on initiatives related to electronic trading, asset management, and broader regulatory matters across all asset classes
  • Organizing, coordinating, and completing legal and compliance projects and daily tasks, ensuring timely execution and effective follow-through
  • Reviewing, organizing, and maintaining legal documentation and regulatory advice relating to trading, financial regulations, employment matters, and general corporate issues across the APAC region
  • Preparing and updating legal documents and regulatory filings, including applications, registrations, and other compliance-related records and systems
  • Assisting with regulatory inquiries and requests for information, including conducting e-communication reviews and periodic assessments of compliance policies and procedures
  • Conducting compliance monitoring and testing to evaluate adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory controls
  • Supporting escalation and resolution of issues identified through internal surveillance or reporting mechanisms
  • Drafting and updating internal procedures, policies, and guidance to support evolving business and regulatory requirements
  • Monitoring and tracking regulatory developments across Asia (particularly in China), summarizing changes and assisting in implementation where needed
  • Contributing to automation and technology-led initiatives, including basic data manipulation and supporting workflow or process improvements
  • Participating in strategic and cross-functional projects, drafting business requirements, partnering with internal teams, and performing user acceptance testing
  • Collaborating with global Legal & Compliance colleagues to share best practices and identify improvements that can benefit other regions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university in law or a related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience at a Chinese regulator or exchange, a law firm, broker-dealer, or other financial services firm environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin for business purposes
  • High attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, project, and process management skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to juggle competing priorities, adapt to changing demands, and operate effectively in a client-service context
  • Resilience and ability to work independently, multi-task, and manage conflicting deadlines
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset, with the willingness to take initiative, collaborate with a team, “roll up sleeves,” and follow through on tasks
  • Enthusiasm to learn, strong work ethic, and experience seeing projects through from start to finish
