Navico Connect EMEA consists of specialized departments of Sales, PM, Finance, Ops, R&D and technical support, working together to develop Navico Connect solutions and packages for customers. Navico Connect departments leads the technical development of all Navico Connect projects including integration projects developed for the Marine and Mobile industries.


The purpose of the role is to design, build, integrate, test in the office and on the boat, document, and maintain software applications and systems in collaboration with the Navico Connect teams.
 

Primary Responsibilities: Majority of duties performed, but not meant to be all-inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned .

  • With manager guidance and supervision, develops, deploys, tests, and maintains software for logic, automation, UI, and UX using the tools and programming languages listed in the skills tab, in order to implement designs and meet the allocated requirements defined by the technical specifications, electrical schematics, and/or function lists.

  • Supports the team leader with the development, documentation, and maintenance of software architectures, core software components, and applications.

  • With general guidance, develops, documents, and maintains algorithms. Participates in requirements reviews.

  • With general supervision, performs troubleshooting of operational and integration issues. Reports any critical issues or weaknesses found in the application to the manager and suggests possible improvements

  • Supports Navico Connect Commissioning and Service teams by remote or on-site.

  • Collaborates with R&D colleagues on integration activities and logs tickets in Jira.

Required Skills:

  • Basic Knowledge of schematics and hardware/software architectures.

  • Basic Linux/embedded, Android application and OS development.

  • Basic knowledge of C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, and full-stack development.

  • Basic proficiency with full stack development.

  • Versioning and tracking tools, including Bitbucket, Git, and Jira (Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery).

  • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (like Gimp , Inkscape).

  • System integration, simulation, and testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer Science Bachelor or equivalent expertise acquired in the field.

  • Basic knowledge on 3D engine frameworks like Kanzi, Unity Engine or Unreal Engine is appreciated.

  • Basic knowledge of automation/automotive software tools. (examples: SCADA/HMI and PLC dev tools).
