We are seeking a highly qualified and analytically rigorous Social Scientist Statistician to lead and conduct evaluations of Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) and Psychological Operations (PSYOP) operational impact assessments in support of United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in behavioral science research methodology, advanced statistical modeling, and applied data analysis within complex, operationally relevant environments. This position is located at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct systematic evaluations of OIE and PSYOP operational impact assessments, applying specialized expertise in social science research design and statistical analysis.
  • Perform advanced statistical analysis on routinely collected assessment data, including multivariate modeling, comparative analysis, and inferential testing to support operational decision-making.
  • Refine data inputs for reporting purposes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and analytical integrity across all deliverables.
  • Evaluate assessment tools, survey instruments, and analytical applications for operational utility, recommending improvements to enhance measurement validity and reliability.
  • Provide expert insights and recommendations to continuously improve analytical models, methodologies, and reporting frameworks over time.
  • Collaborate with program managers, operational planners, and Government stakeholders to align research design with mission objectives and reporting requirements.
  • Synthesize complex quantitative findings into clear, actionable reports and briefings for operational and senior leadership audiences.
  • Support the development and refinement of assessment frameworks that measure the impact of communication and messaging interventions on target audience attitudes and behaviors.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging research methodologies, analytical tools, and best practices in behavioral science and program evaluation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Behavioral Science (Psychology, Anthropology, or a closely related field).
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience within the last seven (7) years in social science or market research methodology, encompassing data cleaning, processing, management, and statistical analysis.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience within the last seven (7) years developing multivariate models and conducting advanced statistical analysis.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience using statistical analysis software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex quantitative findings into clear written reports and executive-level presentations for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong working knowledge of research design principles, including survey methodology, sampling techniques, and measurement validity.
  • TS/SCI Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a program evaluation role applying social science research methods and evaluation techniques to assess the impact of communication and messaging interventions.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working with Special Operations Forces (SOF) organizations or supporting programs requiring familiarity with related doctrine and operational frameworks.
  • Completion of at least one advanced higher-education course in program evaluation, experimental design, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience within the last seven (7) years conducting comparative data analyses, including correlation, scatterplot analysis, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), regression, response frequency, distribution of responses, outlier testing, A/B testing, and salience index methods.
  • Experience working with AI-assisted analytical tools, including Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications such as sentiment analysis, entity recognition, or text categorization.
  • Prior experience supporting DoD, interagency, or combatant command-level assessment programs.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and validating survey instruments, focus group protocols, or other primary data collection tools.

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for communicating analytical findings to diverse stakeholder audiences.
