Job Summary: You will serve as a SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT) LEADER in the H-60 Aircraft Phase Maintenance Office, Shop 91501, H-60 Aircraft Phased Maintenance Production Center of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. The incumbent will serve as a working leader who leads three or more employees in performing work which is typical of the Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft) trade. The duty location of this position is Kaneohe, Hawaii.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE which entails performing tasks such as: 1) Performing productive tasks of a journey level Sheet Metal Mechanic, including repairing various types of fixed, rotary wing and trainer aircraft and aircraft components; 2) Developing training courses, curriculum and instructing courses as required; 3) Demonstrating proper trade techniques and practices, explaining safety precautions and giving instructions on the use of power tools, materials, measuring devices, precision instruments and safety devices; 4) Reading and interpreting blueprints, job orders, specifications and maintenance instructions; 5) Troubleshooting systems, disassembling components/systems, and determining required repairs; 6) Performing complete structural checks of an aircraft; 7) Maintaining training records and making recommendations for employee's training plan progress or additional training as appropriate; 8) Developing and revising lesson plans, developing and administering tests and maintaining progress charts; and 9) Conducting formal/informal or on-the-job training instructing of others in the use of tools, nomenclature, theory of operations, repair procedures and test procedures of components, assemblies and airframes associated with the Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic trade.
