Join Mizuho as a ServiceNow Development Lead!
We are seeking a hands-on ServiceNow Development Lead to drive the expansion and enhancement of the platform across modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, GRC, SPM, and EA. This role requires deep expertise in workflow design, integration, and architectural decision-making in a regulated environment. The position offers the opportunity to lead impactful projects and shape the strategic direction of ServiceNow within a growing financial services organization committed to integrity, passion, agility, creativity, and empathy.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Development & Customization: Design, develop, and maintain custom applications and modules across ITSM, ITOM, DevOps, SecOps, EA, SPM and GRC. Create and optimize workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and integrations. Develop reusable components and enforce coding standards to ensure maintainability. Strive to maintain best practices wherever possible.
- Change Minimization & Impact Analysis: Evaluate business requirements critically to avoid unnecessary customizations. Conduct impact assessments before implementing changes to reduce risk and technical debt. Promote configuration over customization wherever possible.
- Cross-Module Integration: Build and maintain integrations between ITOM, EA, GRC, and other modules. Ensure data consistency and process alignment across modules.
- External Integrations: Be a champion for source of truth with other systems and ensure clear published APIs with other systems. Advise and advocate for what is best suited for ServiceNow implementation and what would lead to technical debt.
- Financial Service Focused: Be mindful of our highly regulated environment and work to implement audit trails, separation of duties and access controls across the system. Ensure all development aligns to various internal and external standards.
- Thought Leadership: Be opinionated. Bring awareness of the ServiceNow third-party plug-in and integration ecosystem, how AI tools such as Now Assist and the AI Control Tower aim to improve governance and oversight, and thought leadership on building a modern development capability into an internal development platform.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a proven ServiceNow developer spanning multiple modules.
- Tangible experience with a variety of modules and latest trends in and around ServiceNow.
- Experience with Agile and SAFe methodologies and tools.
- Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with SDLC process, including software implementation and delivery.
- ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified System Administrator (CSA), and/or Certified Implementation Specialist.
Key Outcomes
- Expanded and modernized the ServiceNow platform across multiple modules using scalable, maintainable design standards.
- Reduced technical debt and delivery risk by enforcing configuration‑first principles and rigorous impact analysis.
- Delivered secure, compliant solutions aligned with regulatory, audit, and access control requirements.
- Enabled reliable cross‑module and external system integrations with clear ownership and source‑of‑truth design.
- Strengthened platform governance, code quality, and development best practices across onshore and offshore teams.
- Provided thought leadership on ServiceNow innovation, integrations, and AI‑enabled capabilities to support long‑term platform strategy.
The expected base salary ranges from $185k-$225k.
