Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection is recruiting a Training, Technical Support and Service Technician to support fixed gas and flame as well portable gas detection solutions across the Middle East region. This is a home‑based role located within the UAE, with a preference for candidates based in Abu Dhabi.

Region of Responsibility: Middle East, occasionally outside of the Region like in S.E.A. or Africa.

Overview

Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection is seeking a skilled Training, Technical Support and Service Technician to support our fixed gas and flame as well the portable gas detection product portfolio across the Middle East region. This home‑based role will be in the UAE (Abu Dhabi) and will provide service and maintenance training, technical support and service, commissioning, troubleshooting, and hands-on training for customers, distributors, integrators, EPC’s and key accounts throughout the region.

Role Summary

The appointed candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality service and maintenance training, technical support and service, product training, commissioning support, and after‑sales assistance for Teledyne’s fixed and portable gas detection systems across the Middle East. This includes supporting end users, channel partners, EPCs, and system integrators to ensure safe, compliant, and effective use of Teledyne equipment.

The role requires close collaboration with:

  • Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection Middle East team

  • Global Service, Product Management and Engineering teams (Teledyne GMI, Teledyne Detcon, Teledyne Oldham)

  • Regional distributors and service partners

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver both onsite and remote technical services, including installation, commissioning, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fixed and portable gas detection systems.

  • Conduct comprehensive service and maintenance training, technical training for end users, distributors, and system integrators, covering product operation, maintenance practices, and safety best‑practice procedures.

  • Support application assessments, site surveys, and technical evaluations to ensure correct product selection and full compliance with customer and project requirements.

  • Contribute to warranty assessments, prepare detailed service reports, and assist in the development of technical documentation.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners to ensure high satisfaction levels and reliable system performance.

  • Provide technical support during customer visits, product demonstrations, and new product rollouts.

  • Ensure all service and training activities adhere to Teledyne’s values, quality standards, and safety procedures.

Required Experience & Competencies

The successful candidate will have:

  • Hands‑on experience servicing gas and flame detection systems (fixed and/or portable) or similar industrial instrumentation.

  • Integrate Gas & Fire Gas Detectors & Systems with PLCs, HMIs, and IoT platforms (LTE, Lora WAN, wireless) a big plus

  • Perform on-site commissioning of Methan track system on IoT and OGI systems

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in the field.

  • Experience in delivering service and maintenance training, high level of technical training or customer support in industrial environments.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with engineers, technicians, and end users.

  • A proactive, customer‑focused approach with strong organizational skills.

  • Willing to travel extensively across the Middle East region.

  • Must be able to demonstrate professional record (5+ years) with a proven track record.

  • Effective team player with ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
