STV is seeking a Senior Work Zone Traffic and Signing CAD Technician within our Transportation group to provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentorship in work zone traffic and permanent signing design for our Charlotte, NC office. This position is fully remote. The ideal candidate will have the technical acumen and managerial skills to facilitate smooth design, coordination, and construction workflows while optimizing project quality and productivity.
Responsibilities include:
Lead/Participate in multi-disciplinary design coordination meetings and facilitate resolution of complex design and coordination issues for project delivery teams.
Evaluate project deliverables for compliance with CAD Protocols, standards, and client requirements.
Interface directly with clients and STV engineers to define CAD deliverables, ensuring projects are executed as per agreed-upon CAD protocols.
Train and mentor project teams in MicroStation/Open Roads Design best practices through both informal and formal learning sessions.
Prepare drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs with occasional assistance.
Review cad and models for design coordination issues.
Remain abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending tools and methodologies to further advance our CAD capabilities.
Requirements:
10+ years of AEC industry experience with a strong focus on MicroStation and GuideSIGN software.
Expert-level proficiency in MicroStation, Project Wise and GuideSIGN software.
Ability to develop a complete Work Zone Transportation Management Plan in MicroStation with minimal guidance from Engineers.
Ability to develop a complete Signing Plan in MicroStation with minimal guidance from Engineers.
Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage teams.
Ability to solve problems and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously under aggressive timelines.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
A desire to mentor junior staff and lead a team of specialists.
Preferred but not Required:
Professional MicroStation certification.
Associate’s degree
Complete understanding of how a Roadway project is constructed.
